2026 Zhengzhou Intelligent Equipment Achievement Transformation and the 2026 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Equipment and Industrial Design (IEID 2026) Successfully Held
From September 22 to 24, 2026, the 2026 Zhengzhou Intelligent Equipment Achievement Transformation and the 22026 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Equipment and Industrial Design (IEID 2026) was grandly held at Zhongyuan University of Technology. The event was co-hosted by Zhongyuan University of Technology and the Zhengzhou Advanced Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology, and organized by the School of Intelligent Mechatronics Engineering (School of Industrial Design), Zhongyuan University of Technology. More than 200 participants attended, including young scholars from Harbin Engineering University, Xi’an Polytechnic University, Northwest A&F University, Shenyang Jianzhu University, Hubei University of Technology, Yue-Tai Industrial Technology College of Dongguan University of Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Quality Inspection and Testing, as well as experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives from Henan Daily Press Group, the 27th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, Henan Geophysical and Spatial Information Research Institute Co., Ltd., CSSC Haiwei High-Tech Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Aircraft Equipment Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Zhongyuan Silande High-Tech Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Leishen Optoelectronic Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Aote Technology Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Yutong Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., and Henan GRG Metrology & Test Co., Ltd. Boyang Qu, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhongyuan University of Technology, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Huichao Shang, Executive Dean of the School of Intelligent Mechatronics Engineering (School of Industrial Design), presided over the opening ceremony.

Boyang Qu expressed warm congratulations on the successful convening of the conference. He introduced the history of Zhongyuan University of Technology and emphasized that the university is currently making every effort to advance the core key task of preparing to establish Henan University of Electronic Science and Technology. The university is known for engineering and features electronic information and artificial intelligence. Several disciplines have entered the top 1% of ESI globally. It has achieved fruitful results in research platforms, science and technology awards, innovation and entrepreneurship, and international education, and is striving toward a high-level applied research-oriented engineering university. He highlighted the strong faculty, first-class undergraduate programs, key disciplines, and teaching and research platforms of the School of Intelligent Mechatronics Engineering (School of Industrial Design), whose program offerings are closely aligned with industrial needs. At this event, the university will release a batch of achievement transformation projects, covering technologies such as laser additive manufacturing, machine vision, and advanced motor design, which will be applied in fields such as aerospace, new energy vehicles, and low-altitude unmanned equipment. The university looks forward to deepening industry-university-research cooperation through technology transfer, platform co-construction, and talent co-cultivation, accelerating the implementation of scientific research achievements, accumulating innovative momentum for the preparation and establishment of Henan University of Electronic Science and Technology, achieving mutual benefit and win-win results for multiple parties, and wishes the conference complete success.

Hao Chen, Deputy General Manager of Zhengzhou New Dafang Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd., and Yinxing Zhao, Director of the Henan Science and Technology Innovation Promotion Center, delivered speeches respectively. They expressed the hope that by building bridges for military-civilian demand alignment, industry-university-research collaboration, and achievement transformation, they would work with all parties to jointly promote the high-quality development of Henan’s intelligent equipment industry.
Keynote Reports

The conference was divided into two stages: keynote reports and parallel academic forums. Five experts and scholars—Fuquan Nie, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Henan Institute of Science and Technology; Hao Li, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhongyuan University of Technology; Yanwei Chen, Deputy Chief Engineer of the 713th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation; Honglei Zhou, Deputy Director of the Institute of Mechatronic Systems and Intelligent Control, Zhengzhou Advanced Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology; and Shanliang Yao, Vice Dean of the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Intelligent Equipment, Wuhan Institute of Technology—delivered keynote reports successively on topics including key technology research, development, and application of integral hoisting cranes for commercial aerospace rockets; AI-driven new-generation industrial digital twin systems; analysis of the role of modern unmanned intelligent technology; robotics and intelligent manufacturing equipment; and from making things to integrating contexts: a human-machine symbiosis system perspective on intelligent equipment design. Three young scholars from Guangdong-Taiwan College of Industrial Science & Technology, Dongguan University of Technology, Northwest A&F University, Shenyang Aerospace University, and other institutions conducted academic exchanges on hot topics related to intelligent equipment and industrial design in the parallel academic forum.
Prior to the conference, Zhongyuan University of Technology, Zhengzhou Advanced Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology, and Henan University presented 33 related technological achievements, including intelligent optoelectronic manufacturing technology; an industrial internet cloud platform for discrete manufacturing; research and development of key technologies for high-efficiency integrated thermal management equipment for communication base stations; multi-material cross-scale stereolithography 3D printing equipment; the PL-3 temperature-controlled lubricated ball-on-rod friction fatigue testing machine; an ultrasonic oil film thickness measurement ball-on-disk friction testing machine; laser additive remanufacturing technology for prefabricated buildings; intelligent manufacturing and control of industrial components based on machine vision; and robotics and intelligent control technology.
